Rotherham United will be looking to build on some impressive recent showings when they return to action on Wednesday evening.

The Millers are currently sat 19th in the Championship table, and will be eager to pick up points in their next match against Luton Town.

It certainly won't be a given that they'll do that though, with Nathan Jones' side catching the eye with some strong performances of their own in this year's league campaign.

Rotherham were beaten 1-0 by Stoke City in their most recent match in the second-tier, and will be eager to get back to winning ways with a positive result against Luton in midweek.

Rotherham's assistant manager Richie Barker issued an update on Shaun MacDonald, after the experienced midfielder was forced off against Stoke City.

"We need everybody to be at 100%, so it was a bit of a no brainer to take him off. He didn’t train today and we’ll know more information on him tomorrow."

Barker also issued an update on defender's Clark Robertson and Chiedozie Ogbene, with both players being out of action for the majority of this year's league campaign.

Robertson suffered a fractured foot earlier this term, and has been restricted to just two appearances for the Millers, whilst Ogbene hasn't featured for the Rotherham first-team since late September, after picking up a knee injury.

"I think once you get told it’s months rather than weeks you can start to take it one week at a time really. They’ve been told how long it will be and doing everything to get back at that time.

"On the flip side of that they know they have to be patient with it and that everything they do could impact how quickly they will come back.

"But they are upbeat, they have a programme and they know what they have to do. They also know they will get a chance if they do the right things when they are fit again."

Rotherham boss Paul Warne will be hoping to have a fully-fit squad at the earliest of opportunities, as they look to pull themselves further clear of the relegation zone in the Championship this term.
