Sunderland’s prospective new owners may not stop at acquiring the Black Cats as they look to build a ‘multi-club empire,’ according to Get France Football News.
Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and Juan Sartori are hoping to get a deal over the line for the Black Cats with Stewart Donald accepting their offer and they are now in a period of exclusivity trying to get the deal done.
They won’t be stopping at Wearside if things go their way by the looks of it, though, with the report suggesting clubs in France and Uruguay are also of interest to them as potential acquisitions.
We’ve seen more and more of this in the game in recent years.
Owners like to have a handful of clubs available to them and often we see players transfer between the different sides – Watford and Udinese being a prime example in this country.
Sunderland fans will hope that their new potential owners do not overstretch themselves as they will want their club to get full attention and focus from them as they bid to climb the football pyramid in this country.
Equally, though, the potential prospect of being able to sign players from France and Uruguay could be an exciting opportunity for them.
