Arsenal are set to review Eddie Nketiah's loan at Leeds United in January after concerns about his lack of game time.

The England U21 international is highly-rated by the Londoners and they had hoped a loan spell under Marcelo Bielsa could take the strikers game up another level.

However, it hasn't really worked out so far, even though Nketiah has scored three goals from ten appearances.

He is yet to start a league game, with the Argentinian boss preferring Patrick Bamford to lead the line in his formation that sees one play up top.

As well as that, it should be said that an injury hasn't helped the 20-year-old, as an abdominal problem has kept him out of the Whites previous three games. During that time, Leeds have picked up nine points, with Bamford starring.

So, it seems unlikely that Nketiah will become the leading striker before January and reporter Alan Nixon revealed that the Gunners could recall the striker when the window opens.

"Arsenal will want to look at that. They wanted him to play this season."

The verdict

In truth, this shouldn't really come as a surprise because it makes total sense that Arsenal want Nketiah playing every week.

And, he'd probably start for the vast majority of clubs in the division, so it's not going to be hard for the Premier League side to find another club for him to join.

From Leeds' perspective, losing Nketiah would be a blow but they will have known this was a possibility so they may have to line up some alternatives.
