Lincoln City continue to go well in League One, with Robbie Gotts getting his first minutes under his belt since joining the club from Leeds United.

Leeds eventually settled on Lincoln as Gotts' destination, but the last time we checked in on the 20-year-old, he hadn't featured for Michael Appleton's side.

However, that's now changed, with Gotts' debut for the Imps coming over the space of the last week.

Gotts started last week's 3-1 defeat to Portsmouth in League One, with Appleton playing him at right-back for 64 minutes.

That's a position Gotts played well in with Leeds' under-23s, with the Lincoln boss delivering the following assessment of his performance.

Appleton told Lincolnshire Live: "I thought Robbie did well in the first half, I thought he was good.

“They targeted him a little in the second half and were putting diagonal balls on him. That’s why we made the change.

“It got difficult for him in that second half, but he’s going to be fine for us.

“He’s a midfield player as well as a full-back. He’s got lots of energy and I’m sure we’ll see more and more of him, and the better side of him, going forward.”

There was another start for Gotts in the FA Cup over the weekend against Forest Green Rovers.

Appleton this time pushed Gotts into his midfield, with the Leeds loanee getting his way through 90 minutes as Lincoln won 6-2.

There was no place on the scoresheet for Gotts, but he did notch his first assist for the Imps, teeing up Jorge Grant's sublime opener.

Gotts - like Leeds - is now enjoying the international break. Lincoln's fixture with Gillingham next weekend has been postponed.
