Even though few academy graduates have made the step up to the first-team, Wolves have produced several players who have starred in the Football League over the years.
And, Niall Ennis will be hoping to be the latest that he can go on to have a good career. The striker was always highly-rated at Molineux but Wanderers’ remarkable rise means that he has had to go out on loan to get regular minutes, with his latest spell at Burton Albion.
However, the 21-year-old has endured a tough opening month with the Brewers and he failed to score in his fifth successive game as the League One side lost to non-league Barnet in the FA Cup on Saturday.
In fairness, the attacker was one of few players for Jake Buxton’s side that played with intent and he went close on a few occasions but it was a very disappointing result considering Burton were playing against ten men for over 45 minutes.

That continues Burton’s struggles and it should be said that Ennis has walked into a club that aren’t in a good place right now. As well as the FA Cup exit, they are second from bottom in the third tier.
So, on the whole, it hasn’t been the loan spell that the player would’ve wanted, particularly after he showed flashes of hid undoubted talent at this level with Doncaster last season.
But, with Burton struggling, he’s sure to get more minutes as the weeks progress and Ennis will hope to establish himself as the main man at the club as they look to climb the table.
