Owen Dale’s loan at Blackpool has reached its expiry date and he has returned to Crewe Alexandra with no permanent deal being agreed between the two clubs, at least for now.
Dale joined the Tangerines in the summer transfer window of 2021 on a loan deal, with the view to the move being made permanent in the January market.
We’re in said January window now, then, but Dale has instead seen his loan deal expire with no official line from Blackpool on the transfer situation and he is back with the Railwaymen – at least for the time being.
Indeed, things aren’t completely dead in the water as it stands with reporter Alan Nixon revealing that work is being done to try and find a resolution to the situation:
Blackpool. Crewe. Trying to resurrect Dale deal. That needs a solution.

Dale is a very decent player and one that you would expect to be featuring in the Championship more in the near future rather than playing in League One or even in League Two if Crewe are relegated this season.
There seemed an expectancy that Dale would seal a permanent switch to Bloomfield Road this month but, of course, that has not materialised just yet.
Without doubt, though, there seems still a chance that the Seasiders could yet take him back.
