Nottingham Forest and Leeds fans will be encouraged by the news that Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony has admitted the clubs has had bids for star striker Jack Marriott.

Reported in an article from Leeds Live, the Posh owner said that he has had bids for Marriott, but refused to delve into who had the made the bids for the striker who notched over 25 goals last season.

Marriott is a wanted man, and has attracted the attention of the likes of Leeds, Forest, and Bristol City this summer, and the latest update from MacAnthony will only add fuel to the fire and encourage Leeds and Reds fans to start convincing themselves that they are the club who have made the bid.

Peterborough are expected to sell Marriott in the coming weeks and are clearly holding out for the highest bidder.

Both Leeds and Forest want to add new strikers to their squads this summer, however Forest have already added Lewis Grabban, whicih could well pave the way for Marriott to go elsewhere.

However, Forest did send Jason Cummings to Peterborough on Friday, and many Forest fans will be hoping it is something of a sweetener in their bid for Marriott.

Forest and Leeds fans, what do you think? Is Marriott coming to your club? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
