QPR defender Ben Wells has extended his loan deal with Concord Rangers until the 14th of March.

The teenager originally joined the National League South club on loan in the middle of December and has played a role in their season so far with 11 appearances to his name.

Wells was also named as an unused substitute for the 3-2 win over Maidstone United in the FA Trophy on 14th December.

He has played a big role in Concord reaching the last eight of the FA Trophy as he has started their last three games in the competition.

Wells came through the youth ranks at West Ham United and went on to captain their youth teams during his time in the academy.

He chose to reject a new deal at the club when his under-18 scholarship came to an end in 2018 and instead chose to sign for QPR in July that year where he has continued his development across the last 18 months.

Concord next travel to Hemel Hempstead Town on Saturday.

The Verdict

Wells has settled in well at Concord since arriving at the club a couple of months ago.

He is getting some valuable experience of senior football under his belt while he is still developing and he is being able to make his mark on the Beachboys.

The defender will now be aiming to help Concord secure their place in the National League South for next season with the Beachboys sat six points above the relegation zone.
