Manor Solomon appears to be Fulham's number one transfer target heading into the summer window, as per Calcio Mercato.

The 22-year-old was one of the most exciting young players in the Ukrainian top-flight this season before play was suspended and could improve the Cottagers' attacking contingent in the Premier League next season.

Fulham will be hoping to replace the threat of Fabio Carvalho in the summer window, to ensure they put up a much better fight than they did in 2018/19 and 2020/21.

Marco Silva's experience in the division with Hull City, Watford and Everton should come in handy and Solomon's arrival could provide a significant boost early on in the window.

The Israeli winger has already been capped by his nation 28 times, scoring four times and signed for Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2019.

According to Calcio Mercato, Solomon will sign for Fulham for a fee in the region of €8 million with a sell-on clause included for Shakhtar to see a further return on the sale if he moves away from the Cottagers for a fee.

Fulham are set to pull off an excellent deal financially, with the 22-year-old reportedly valued from €25-30 million before the conflict in Ukraine began, so Solomon would arrive in West London at a cut price.

The Verdict

The Cottagers have to learn from the mistakes they have made in the past.

It does not matter how much you spend, if it is not spent smartly you will get relegated.

Fulham stood still while Scott Parker's questionable tactical decisions saw their squad underperform and be relegated last season, in 2018/19 they sacked two managers and were still miles adrift at the business end.

At 22, Solomon seems like a decent signing, with the knowledge that even if he takes some time to adjust to a new country and division, he has time to develop and prove his worth to the club.

It will be interesting to see how loyal Silva is to the current squad in looking to bridge the quality gap from the Championship to the top-flight next season.
