Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton-Diaz has yet to receive an offer from a potential suitor this summer, according to a report from Chilean outlet AS.

Despite the fact that the 23-year-old has attracted a great deal of attention from elsewhere in recent months, it is understood that a formal approach from a potential suitor has yet to materialise in the current transfer window.

As per Football Insider, Leeds United sent scouts to watch Brereton-Diaz play for Blackburn in their pre-season friendly with Accrington Stanley.

Meanwhile, West Ham United are still keeping tabs on the forward whilst Sevilla were linked with a potential swoop earlier this year.

Blackburn opted to trigger an option in Brereton-Diaz's contract last month that will see him stay at the club until 2023.

A stand-out performer for Rovers last season, the forward set the Championship alight with his attacking displays.

During the 37 games that he played at this level, the former Nottingham Forest man managed to find the back of the net on 22 occasions for Blackburn whilst he also chipped in with three assists.

With Rovers set to take on Queens Park Rangers on July 30th, they will be hoping to call upon the services of Brereton-Diaz in this particular fixture.

The Verdict

Whereas there is still a chance that Blackburn's resolve will be tested this summer, this particular update is relatively encouraging as Brereton-Diaz has yet to be the subject of a formal approach.

It could be argued that in order to have the best chance of achieving a relative amount of success in the second-tier next season, Rovers will need to keep the Chile international at the club.

Having illustrated last season that he is capable of thriving at this level, Brereton-Diaz will fancy his chances of making a positive start to the new term if he stays.

By signing some players who compliment Brereton-Diaz's style of play, there is no reason why Blackburn cannot provide their supporters with something to shout about later this year.
