Jonathan Woodgate has hinted that he should know more about Darren Randolph's future soon.

The 32-year-old has been widely linked with a move away from Middlesbrough in the January transfer window as his future hangs in the balance.

Reports have suggested that West Ham United are keen to bring the goalkeeper back to East London, two years after leaving the Hammers for a move to Teesside.

The Daily Mail have claimed that Randolph has told Middlesbrough that he wants to leave, fuelling rumours that a deal could be done sooner rather than later.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw with Tottenham, Woodgate says that he's unsure what the future holds for his number one stopper.

Quoted by Teesside Live, Woodgate said: “Not sure on Darren yet, I’ll probably know more after the game.

“I don’t know the situation, all I know is that he’s here at the minute.”

How much attention have you paid to Middlesbrough this season? Let's find out!

The verdict

It's no surprise that Darren Randolph is attracting interest.

The goalkeeper is regarded as one of Middlesbrough's best players, and given their current position in the Championship it's hard to argue that the 32-year-old should be playing at a higher level.

The focus for the Teessiders will now be on getting a good deal for the player.
