Tottenham Hotspur have decided not to loan-out Troy Parrott this month, reports Football Insider.

The 17-year-old was on the radars of both QPR and Charlton Athletic, but Jose Mourinho has now decided that he wants Parrott to remain at Spurs for the rest of the season.

Charlton showed an initial interest. They look to potentially lose Lyle Taylor this week and had identified Parrot as a target, whilst QPR saw their top-scorer Nahki Wells recalled by Burnley, and it looks likely today that he'll move to Bristol City on a permanent transfer.

Parrot has two Spurs first-team appearances to his name and a cap for his national side. He's been a prolific forward for the youth sides leading up to his promotion to the first-team, and fans are keen to see what he has to offer.

Mourinho was dealt a huge blow last month when Harry Kane was injured. The England captain is ruled out until April and with that, Parrott's services at the cub might be needed after all.

The verdict

Neither QPR or Charlton ever showed more than a passing interest in Parrott, so I don't think either club will be too disappointed with Spurs' decision. Having said that, if Charlton lose Taylor this week and QPR don't replace Wells, they might be left ruing this one.

Spurs fans might be aggrieved as well - he's not likely to play much football for the club, with PSV's Steven Bergwijn arriving yesterday, a loan-move would've been a great opportunity for Parrott to show what's he's capable of.
