Since Vincent Kompany's appointment as Burnley manager following their relegation to the Championship, the new boss has been busy at work bringing in new names to strengthen his squad.

The Clarets are looking in very different shape as they approach the new season following the departure of a number of long serving players who have returned to the top flight.

Nevertheless, the new side is starting to shape up nicely and Kompany will be hoping his squad will be able to push to go straight back up to the Premier League next year.

Over recent Burnley have been linked to Coventry's Callum O'Hare with journalist Alan Nixon claiming he was a name on the wanted list.

Daily Mirror reporter James Nursey has now provided an update reporting that the Clarets are expected to complete the signing of the 24-year-old within the next week.

The midfielder was a key part of the Sky Blues side last year making 45 appearances for his side and getting five goals under his belt too.

Furthermore, with the potential departures of both Maxwel Cornet and Dwight McNeil this summer, this could provide the boss with some reinforcements he needs in his side.

Nursey's update claims that Burnley are offering the player a major pay-rise if the deal is to go through too.

With two years left on his contract at Coventry, Burnley will no doubt be making a fair offer for O'Hare this summer but this latest update suggests it's one that the club cannot turn down.

The Verdict:

This is a move that has been rumoured for a while now so all parties will no doubt be keen to get it done now so they can progress with the next part of their business.

It seems natural that O'Hare would be getting a wage increase by making the move to Turf Moor given the status of Burnley. However, whilst this is a boost you can't imagine this is the only motivation behind the move since it is a move up.

The 24-year-old could do a great job under Kompany and find himself given the opportunity to develop his game to the next stage.
