Ovie Ejaria has committed his international allegiance to Nigeria, reports ESPN.

The Liverpool man is on-loan at Reading. He spent the second-half of last season at the club before returning to Anfield, but manager Jose Gomes brought him back in the summer, with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the campaign.

He's so far been one of Reading's standout players - he's three goals and four assists to his name, and has once again wowed fans with his skills and technique, and has now seemingly made a decision on where his international allegiances lie in the future.

Amaju Pinnick, President of the Nigerian Football Federation, has been wanting Ejaria to commit to Nigeria throughout the season, and now the Super Eagles look as though they've got their newest member:

"Yes, he has agreed to play for Nigeria," Pinnick told ESPN. "His documents have been sent to FIFA since."

Ejaria, 22, was born in England to Nigerian parents. He spent nine years in the Arsenal youth academy before joining Liverpool's in 2014, and has since spent time with both Sunderland and Rangers, before landing in Berkshire.

He's represented England at U20 and U21 level, but will now work his way into the Nigerian senior team.

The verdict

Pinnick has been chasing Ejaria for a while now, and it seems he's finally got his man.

ESPN report 'delays' in the paperwork due to the current climate, but Pinnick has insisted that Ejaria will play for Nigeria. It could be a big opportunity for the Reading man, who'll have his sights set on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
