West Bromwich Albion are increasingly confident in being able to persuade Rayhaan Tulloch to sign a new contract with the club, amid speculation linking him with a move away from the Hawthorns, according to the Football Insider.

Tulloch has been in fine form for the Baggies’ under-23's so far this campaign, scoring nine goals an registering a further four assists in 13 appearances in the Premier League 2 Division 2, which has seen him emerge as one of the club’s brightest young prospects.

The 19-year-old’s performances for West Brom’s under-23's has seen him catch the attentions of manager Slaven Bilic, who has given him first team chances in the FA Cup bringing him off the bench late on in the third round win at Charlton Athletic, before giving him half an hour at West Ham as the Baggies progressed through to the fifth round.

Can you remember the score from West Brom’s first 12 games of the season?

The forward, though, is currently set to be out of contract at West Brom in the summer, and has been linked with a potential move to Scottish giants Rangers, who would be able to pick him up for a relatively low compensation fee were he to leave in the summer, but the Baggies are now thought to be confident he will stay at the club.

The verdict

This will be encouraging news for West Brom and Bilic, with the Baggies not wanting to lose their most promising young players for little money by way of compensation, so they will be hoping that Tulloch does eventually commit his long-term future to the club.

Tulloch has not been able to force his way into Bilic’s side in the Championship as of yet this season, but the 19-year-old’s form for the club’s under-23s is starting to really earn him recognition amongst Baggies supporters and is catching attentions of the West Brom boss.

It was perhaps telling that Bilic decided to give the 19-year-old the final half an hour against West Ham at the weekend, suggesting he has faith in the forward to come on and make an impact for the Baggies against Premier League opposition.

Given Tulloch’s form so far this campaign, it is little surprise to see him being linked with a move away from the Hawthorns, and the Baggies will be needing to do all that they can to ensure that he still remains with the club in the summer.
