Norwich City look set to lose two of their highly rated squad in the summer, as Premier League giants Tottenham and Liverpool circle, ready to swoop.

The Mirror reports a potential cash crisis at Carrow Road, with parachute payments set to end this season after their 2016 relegation, meaning they'll be looking for an injection of money. In James Maddison and Josh Murphy, they have two extremely saleable assets.

Maddison already has a £30m price tag on his head, whilst Murphy's twin brother Jacob was sold for £12m last season, a figure that Norwich would hope to replicate this time around.

England U21 striker Maddison has 15 goals to his name in a somewhat disappointing Championship campaign for Daniel Farke's side, but the valuation of £17m suggested as a potential price Leicester are willing to pay looks some way short of Norwich's desired fee.

Leicester, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are said to be hunting Murphy, but he  is under contract with Norwich until the summer of 2021, which will help push up the fee a little higher.

The Verdict

Norwich are now staring the result of three barren years in the face. premier League relegation is one thing, but it could be argued that parachute payments running out is just as bad as going down.

Both Maddison and Murphy are good players with bags of potential, but both are incredibly likely to be gone as the hierarchy try to balance the books.

It's been a dismal side for Daniel Farke's side in truth, they've looked well off the pace and it wouldn't surprise me if those two players moving on was only the start of a summer of upheaval in deepest darkest Norfolk.
