‘Until it’s called off’ – Many Nottingham Forest fans react to club update ahead of Derby

Saturday’s East Midlands derby between Nottingham Forest and Derby County is bracing itself for a last-minute pitch inspection due to the rain expected in Nottingham over the coming days.

Sabri Lamouchi’s forest will welcome their rivals to the City Ground on Saturday having moved up to fifth place in the Championship table following a 2-1 win over Luton last weekend.

Goals from Sammy Ameobi and Lewis Grabban ensured Forest moved just five points off league leaders West Bromwich Albion with a game in hand, making them slight favourites for Saturday’s derby encounter.

The visitors have been struggling and sit in 15th at present, having failed to build any consistency in recent weeks, losing two and winning two in their last four games.

Having previously met already this season in the Carabao Cup in which Forest won 3-0, both sides have a point to prove this weekend.

Forest could go within two points of the league leaders if other results go their way, whilst Lamouchi will also be aware that winning their game in hand could see them make a real statement amongst the promotion chasing clubs.

Fans of both are now getting excited as the week moves closer to Saturday, but question marks over weather conditions in the East Midlands have many wondering if the game will actually go ahead.

Forest’s official Twitter @NFFC tweeted a short video of former manager Stuart Pearce celebrating a goal against Derby, before comments came in about the weather conditions.

Some Forest fans however, chose to look forward to the tie, predicting the result in the meantime.
