Premier League target Craig Dawson is ready to up his efforts to leave West Bromwich Albion this summer, according to The Mirror's Live Transfer Blog [Tuesday 3rd July, 09:19].

Goalkeeper Ben Foster is set for a switch to Watford in a reported £3.5m deal and Dawson wants to follow him in leaving West Brom.

Both Foster and Dawson recently landed themselves in trouble with the club for refusing to travel to Portugal with the rest of the squad to take part in pre-season training.

But this has not dissuaded Dawson from leaving and he wants to force a move back to the top flight.

Burnley have had a £12m bid rejected for the 28-year-old, which the player believes is unfair.

The Clarets are also eyeing Jay Rodriguez as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of their upcoming Premier League campaign.

Dawson is not short of suitors this summer with West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers also thought to hold an interest in him.

The former Rochdale defender - who plays at right-back or centre-half - is ready to hand in a transfer request to get his move.

The Verdict

If Dawson does not want to be at West Brom, they should let him go as they only need dedicated and committed players for their promotion push.

£12m is not a bad price for the versatile defender and that could be reinvested in a replacement.

While Dawson's exit will leave a void at the back, he is not irreplaceable and he should be granted his wish.
