West Bromwich Albion picked up their third consecutive away clean sheet against Hull City yesterday, which has left many Baggies fans praising goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

It was a tough test for Slaven Bilic's side as Hull showed the form that had seen them pick up three wins on the bounce prior to the game but Jake Livermore's 21st-minute strike proved the difference between the two teams and secured a 1-0 win for the visitors.

Johnstone put in an important performance between the sticks for West Brom, which included superbly keeping out Jackson Irvine at the end of the first-half.

The victory means the Baggies remain two points clear at the top of the Championship, having taken 33 points from 16 games.

Bilic's side have kept four clean sheets across that period, with three of those coming in their last three away games.

Johnstone has played an important role in their impressive recent defensive record and looks like he will be an integral player in the promotion push.

The 26-year-old arrived at the Hawthorns from Manchester United in July 2018 and has started every league game since.

After being criticised in the past, the Englishman's recent performances appear to have caught the attention of many West Brom fans, with some taking to Twitter to praise Johnstone.
