After all the hype and optimism, the hope and the speculation, Leeds United's curtain raiser against Stoke City did not disappoint.

In a confident and fluid display of pass and move football, the Whites blew away Stoke City, pre-season favourites for the title.

It was swashbuckling at times, a delight for the neutral and perhaps an early indication of what Marcelo Bielsa might be able to achieve at Elland Road this season.

One player who caught the eye was Samuel Saiz, the 27-year old Spaniard who often flattered to deceive last season. Whilst there's no doubting his obvious talent, at times under Paul Heckingbottom he looked stifled and uncomfortable.

The six-game ban for spitting didn't help his rhythm and fans could be forgiven for thinking he would be one who was thrown out of the Elland Road door.

Instead, he started the game alongside Mateusz Klich just behind Kemar Roofe and had an eye-catching afternoon, looking every bit as talented and exciting as he did at the beginning of last season.

The fans were delighted to see him playing well once more and they took to Twitter to express their delight at a key asset seemingly finding his mojo once again.
