It's been well-documented that Leeds United have a firm interest in signing Southampton striker Che Adams before the January transfer window closes.

But it had previously been reported by the Daily Mail that the Saints weren't willing to send the striker out on loan anytime soon, as Ralph Hasenhüttl saw the former Birmingham man as a key player in his plans for the future.

The Athletic's Phil Hay issued an update on Leeds' pursuit of Adams on Tuesday, and revealed that Southampton are yet to reject their approach for the striker.

Adams has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season for Southampton, and it seems as though this potential deal is likely to go the distance in the January.

Leeds are likely to be active before the transfer window closes, with Eddie Nketiah recently returning to Arsenal early from his loan spell.

The Whites have also been linked with moves for Britt Assombalonga and Leigh Griffiths recently, as they look at alternatives to Adams.

Plenty of the Elland Road faithful took to social media to react to Hay's latest update on Leeds' pursuit of Adams.
