Sheffield United are enjoying a fantastic campaign so far and currently sit in third place in the Championship table.

Manager Chris Wilder has continued the Blades' superb form from their title-winning season on League One last year over to this season, and they look like serious challengers for promotion.

There have been some standout figures for the Blades, with the likes of Billy Sharp and David Brooks particularly stealing the limelight this season.

However, there is one Blades player that goes under the radar, but is such an effective cog in Wilder's midfield - Mark Duffy.

The 32-year-old has been sensational but doesn't receive the plaudits.

Is he criminally underrated?

We take a look....

George Dagless

Undoubtedly.

It's easy to look at Sheffield United's form this season and conclude that the likes of Billy Sharp have been the main stars.

The Blades' success, though, has come from all eleven men - no matter who plays - knowing their job and Duffy is a prime example of that. He bosses the midfield and reads the game as good as anyone making him very much Chris Wilder's eyes on the pitch.

He's been excellent.

Chris Gallagher

Absolutely, he's a very good player.

You could also argue that many of the Blades players are underrated too. Duffy is a key player to this team and was influential in the win against Reading last time out.

Whilst fans would like to see him get the recognition he deserves, as long as he keeps these performances up they won't mind too much!

Alfie Burns

I believe so, but he is not the only member of Sheffield United’s squad that is underrated.

Duffy has been exceptional all season for the Blades, and he is a vital member of Wilder’s playing squad.

The 32-year-old brings plenty of experience in midfield, and his partnership with Paul Coutts and John Fleck is flourishing in the Championship.
