Football League World's Luton Town fan pundit Thomas Wheatley has talked up the possibility of Kazenga LuaLua's chances of starting more games for the Hatters this term, with the former Brighton and Hove Albion man having appeared mostly from the bench this season.

Given the little impact he has made this season, scoring just one solitary goal, it is perhaps unsurprising that the 28-year-old has been left out of the starting eleven by Graeme Jones this term, however Wheatley was quick to talk up the player's chances when our fan pundit was asked about the winger this week, he said:

"Kazenga LuaLua is undoubtedly a talented player and absolutely tore up League One last season.

"This season he’s not quite been at the top of his game, and it’s hard to put my finger on why.

"He seems less keen to turn his man inside out and reach the bye line as he did so often last year.

"If this became a more regular feature of his game then I’d be more than happy to see him starting."

Whilst the winger has found his game time limited this term under Jones, fellow forward Callum McManaman is also in the same boat, however, this didn't stop Wheatley offering some positive advice for the duo:

"If LuaLua and indeed Callum McManaman could add a couple more goals to their game, then they’d be in with a much bigger chance of starting and influencing games.

"Our forwards have been in good form and probably don’t deserve being dropped.

"Cornick and Collins were sat on the bench for the first half against Birmingham, whilst LuaLua and McManaman got their chance from the start, however, the common consensus is that we were much improved when they came on."

It is clear from our fan pundit's comments that he sees a lot of potential in LuaLua this season, however the stats don't lie and it is clear that the winger has a long way to go if he is to break into his manager's first choice eleven this season, particularly as the Hatters have rarely operated with out and out wingers this term.
