Fulham hold an interest in signing Jack Clarke from Tottenham, according to a report from the Evening Standard.

Clarke has been with Spurs for a year now, but has had tough loan spells at both Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers.

Nevertheless, his spell at Leeds prior to signing for Spurs indicated he’s got a bright future in the game and it seems Scott Parker wants to offer him a chance in the Premier League after his Fulham side won the play-offs.

So, would he be a good signing?

I find it difficult to predict to be honest.

I'm a big fan of Clarke as a player and I hope we see him realise his potential but since that excellent season at Leeds in 18/19 we've not seen him hit similar heights.

Of course, that can happen in a young player's career and there's every chance he'll bounce back so, in that sense, it's worth Fulham taking a look.

They have good options out wide so they have to be able to guarantee him minutes for this to be worthwhile, otherwise he's wasting another important season on someone's bench.

If they can assure him of minutes, then it's a good deal.

I am unconvinced by this move, to be honest.

Clarke had a promising few months in the Leeds United first-team two seasons ago but last term he struggled to prove his worth even in the Championship.

He made just ten appearances in the second tier last season after signing for Spurs, so I am not sure what Parker has apparently seen to deem him worthy of a Premier League role.

Fulham need to be clever in this transfer window. When they were last promoted, they went too gung-ho and ruined any rhythm built from their promotion-winning campaign.

With the added financial pressures of this window, that will be facing everyone, they need to ensure they are not making frivolous deals and I can see Clarke being exactly that.

Quiz: Do you remember which club Fulham signed these 15 players from?

I'm not sure about this one.

Clarke rarely featured for QPR in his loan spell from Spurs this season, and his career hasn't exactly taken off just yet.

With Fulham recently winning promotion into the Premier League, you have to question as to whether he'd be getting the game time he needs to develop in senior football with Scott Parker's side.

If the Cottagers hadn't have won promotion this term, then he could have been a decent addition to their team, but he simply isn't needed whilst they're in the top-flight.

There are better, and more experienced options out there for Fulham in the transfer window, as they look to make the necessary additions to their squad ahead of the 2020/21 season.
