A number of Middlesbrough supporters have been very pleased with the latest transfer report from The Mirror linking them with a potential move for Arsenal forward Folarin Balogun.
Balogun has found first team minutes at Arsenal hard to come by this season, with him featuring just twice for the Gunners in the Premier League and not since the opening month of the campaign. However, the 20-year-old has fired home nine goals in eight games for their under-23s in Premier League 2 Division 1 so far this term.
The forward has admitted to The Mirror that he now wants to get more minutes in the second half of the season and he is keen to secure himself a loan move away from Arsenal in January.
Boro are thought to be facing competition from Sheffield United, Swansea City and also West Ham for Balogun’s signature though. That suggests it is not going to be an easy signing for them to pull off in the run-up to the transfer window.
The Mirror’s report though has revealed that Chris Wilder has already seen Balogun in action and is keen for his new side to make a move him in the winter window.
Many Middlesbrough fans were excited by this potential signing with many believing it could be a real coup if they pull it off.
Here, we take a look at some of the best reactions on social media…
Would be a real coup if we got him. Far too good for the level he's mainly been playing at

Would be an unbelievable signing. Got plenty of talent for a young player, would definitely make his mark on the championship
