Footage has emerged of Marcelo Bielsa's Athletic Bilbao side comprehensively beating Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford in 2012, which has drawn an excited response from many Whites fans.

Bilbao travelled to Manchester for the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie against the Red Devils in March 2012 and produced a dazzling display.

Playing the swashbuckling style that Leeds fans will now be familiar with, Bielsa's men beat the hosts 3-2 – a scoreline that could've been much more dramatic had David De Gea not come to his side's aide on a number of occasions.

These 15 players have played for both Leeds United and Everton – True or false? Have a go now!

Bilbao beat Ferguson's side 2-1 a week later to secure their place in the Quarter Final of the competition and knock out the Premier League side.

The performance of Bielsa's side in the first leg remains a famous one and Juani Jimeni took to Twitter yesterday to post footage of the game.

With EFL fixtures delayed until further notice due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it appears that the highlights of Bielsa masterminding a victory against Manchester United has gone down well with many Leeds fans.
