Aston Villa centre-back Tyrone Mings has sent a message to his teammates and the club's fans ahead of tonight's crucial play-off semi-final second leg.

Villa have the advantage after coming from the behind to beat West Brom 2-1 at Villa Park on Saturday but everyone knows that the job is far from complete.

Posting on his Instagram story, alongside a photograph from the first-leg, Mings wrote: "Part 2. Let's do this".

Dwight Gayle opened the scoring for the visitors just 16 minutes into the first half on Saturday, finishing emphatically after a mistake from Glenn Whelan slipped him through.

But Dean Smith's side roared back in the second half, pinning their local rivals in their own half and it was a screamer from Conor Hourihane that dragged them level with 15 minutes remaining.

Tammy Abraham fired them in front just four minutes later, tucking away a penalty after Jack Grealish had been brought down in the box, before Gayle was shown a controversial second-yellow card.

The verdict

These are the matches where you imagine Mings will absolutely crucial.

I do not thing Villa will go out to defend their lead at the Hawthorns but there may come a time in the second half where West Brom are throwing absolutely everything at them.

Set-Pieces will be raining down on them and it will be up to Mings to lead the likes of Tuanzebe in that battle.
