Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell scored his first league goal for the club as the Potters moved off the bottom of the Championship table with a 2-0 win over promotion-chasing Fulham at the Bet365 Stadium.

The 19-year-old put Stoke ahead in the 16th minute, latching onto Lee Gregory's flick before coolly slotting past the goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli for his first of the season.

Gregory wrapped up the three points with a penalty ten minutes from time after Scott Hogan was brought down by Bettinelli in the box, as Stoke recorded back-to-back wins for the first time under manager Nathan Jones.

After the game, Campbell took to social media to reflect on the result and the performance, and posted a couple of photos of himself celebrating his goal on his personal

The forward added a message to Stoke fans and was clearly delighted with the team performance, and to score his first Championship goal.

After a poor start to the season, Stoke have now moved off the bottom of the Championship table, although they remain inside the relegation zone, two points from safety.

The Verdict

Campbell has been an important player for Stoke so far this season and to score his first league goal for the club should give his confidence a huge boost.

It was a massive result for Stoke yesterday and it proved that their win over Swansea before the international break was not a fluke.

Stoke have got a bit of momentum behind them now and even though they've got some tough games coming up over the next few weeks, they've shown in the last two games that they're capable of getting results against the top teams in the league.
