A number of Derby County fans have been reacting to Sheffield Wednesday manager Tony Pulis confirming that Jack Marriott has gone back to the Rams for treatment on a calf injury.
Marriott joined Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan before the end of the domestic transfer window, with the forward having fallen down the pecking order at Derby County under Phillip Cocu. The 26-year-old was brought into Hillsborough by Gary Monk, but will now have to wait for the chance to potentially prove his worth under Pulis.
The forward has made seven Championship appearances for the Owls so far, having scored one goal in four games for Derby at the start of the campaign.
However, Marriott has failed to score for Wednesday as of yet and has struggled to make an impact upfront in his opening games for the Owls.

Pulis confirmed after the Owls’ loss against Preston that Marriott is now set to be out of action for around six or seven weeks, which would take it up to the New Year where Derby with have the chance to potentially recall him. It will therefore be interesting to see what happens with his potential situation in January.
Some Derby fans were keen to point out that it could be time the Rams looked to move him on permanently if they can do when he is fit. While others suggested he could still potentially play a key part for them if recalled from his loan in January.
Here then, we take a look at some of the best responses from Derby fans on social media…
