Tyler Walker is enjoying another good goal-scoring campaign so far as he looks to help Michael Appleton's side climb up the table, and carry on where the Cowley's left them.

The English striker has managed to grab seven goals in 15 league games so far and has helped Lincoln to 15th, with them only five points off the play-offs.

Imps fans will be hoping that Walker can continue this rich vein of form and help to at least consolidate a mid-table finish or even a play-off spot.

The 23-year-old spoke to the club website about the pressure he faces at Sincil Bank, saying: “I like the pressure, that’s what I came here for. I wanted that pressure on my shoulders, and as a striker that’s what you have to expect.

“As a striker you want to be getting 20 goals and above, and that would be a good return and hopefully I’ll be able to get there.”

Walker and his side haven't scored since they beat Sunderland but feels his side have been unlucky in front of goal.

"I think we are creating good chances, but at the minute the luck isn’t going our way, but hopefully that will change in the next few games and we get the points that we need,” he said.

“If we create the chances, I back myself to score. I haven’t scored in a couple of games now and I want to make that right on Saturday.”

The forward's goal-scoring hasn't come of much of a surprise to many as he thrived for Mansfield Town last season and helped contribute to a play-off semi-final finish, as he scored 22 goals in 44 league games.

It is a step up in leagues, but the size of the goals don’t change, so I just want to keep scoring and have that belief.

“There is a difference (in standard), and it’s up to me to work out the differences and make sure I keep scoring.”

The Verdict

Tyler Walker has started the season well but if he wants to make that next step up to the Championship next season, then he is going to need to carry on scoring at a consistent level for Lincoln in League One.

The Englishman may well manage to force his way into the Nottingham Forest squad once he returns to his parent club as they are struggling for forwards, with only Rafa Mir and Lewis Grabban available as out and out strikers.

Forest may well look at Walker as a replacement for Lewis Grabban over the next few years as he is in the back-end of his career, whereas Walker is still only 23 years old.
