The run of games prior to the EFL’s postponement saw Leeds United find some electric form; picking up five straights wins and five consecutive clean sheets, moving back to the top of the Championship table.

Leeds scored some fantastic goals in that cluster of fixtures, with Tyler Roberts and Luke Ayling perhaps leading the way for the club’s Goal of the Season after their respective strikes against Hull City and Huddersfield Town.

And, on the club’s return to training yesterday, Roberts has gone viral for his ‘arm around nobody’ pose, which has sparked one supporter to weigh in on the debate surrounding the Goal of the Season.

Quiz: Have Leeds United done these 15 things in the last 10 years? – Yes or no?

A smiling Roberts is photo shopped holding the ‘Goal of the Year’ award, whilst Ayling is looking on in bemusement at his teammate, which promoted the Welshman to point the right-back in the direction of the tweet.

Roberts’ goal came on the back of a superb team move at Leeds took Hull to pieces at the KCOM Stadium.

Jack Harrison, Helder Costa and Mateusz Klich were all involved, along with Roberts, who finished emphatically on the back of Klich’s lay-off.

A week later, we saw Ayling set the cat amongst the pigeons, however, with the right-back meeting a floated cross from Harrison to crash a volley off Jonas Lossl’s crossbar.

The Verdict

When you look back over the course of the season, Leeds have scored some fantastic goals.

Roberts and Ayling have efforts well in the mix for end of season awards, with the former clearly confident his goal might just edge that contest.
