There was an element of surprise when Kemar Roofe left Leeds United in the summer, with the forward moving to Belgian side Anderlecht.

The forward was hugely impressive for the Whites in last year's campaign, as he scored 14 league goals as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League.

But Roofe has only just made his debut for his new club, in a 3-2 win in the Belgian cup on Wednesday evening.

The 26-year-old took to Instagram to voice his delight at making his first start for the Belgian giants, who will be keen to see Roofe replicate the form he had shown for Leeds as early as possible.

Tyler Roberts and Izzy Brown responded to Roofe's debut, and were evidently delighted to see their former team-mate in action for his new club.

Roberts will be hoping that he can play his part in Leeds' promotion bid this season, and he'll be keen to make up for lost time after missing the start of this year's league campaign through injury.

Brown has since moved to Luton Town on loan, and faces a completely different challenge as to what he experienced with Leeds last season, as he looks to help the Hatters retain their Championship status this term.

The Verdict:

I think Roofe can prove to be a success over in Belgium.

If he can build on the confidence he had shown in front of goal last season for Leeds, then he'll have absolutely no problem in adjusting to his new surroundings at Anderlecht.

Only time will tell as to whether his move from Leeds has been the right decision, although it'll be interesting to see if Bielsa's side can win promotion without him in their team this season.
