The 22-year-old Posh player was asked on the Peterborough Instagram account who he believed the best player he played with at Elland Road was, giving Cook as his answer.

Denton stated: ““Lewis Cook. He’s obviously gone on to make his Premier League debut now too.”

Cook, who now plays in the Premier League for Bournemouth, made 85 appearances for the Lilywhites, scoring two goals, in his two years at Elland Road.

Denton and Cook came through the Leeds United youth academy together, and went on to make numerous appearances for the club together at first team level.

Cook has gone on to make his full England debut under the reign of Gareth Southgate, but was not chosen to represent England at the World Cup in Russia this summer.

The Verdict

There is no denying that Lewis Cook is a talented midfielder, and will be honoured to be chosen by Tyler Denton as the best player he played with.

Having come through the Leeds academy together, Denton and Cook played a lot of football with each other over the years, and created a bond.

Now both off with other clubs, Cook has shone with Bournemouth, and even received an England call up as a result.
