Leeds United will be looking to get themselves back to winning ways this weekend as they face Middlesbrough and Garry Monk in the Championship.

The Whites have struggled in recent weeks and they'll certainly be hoping that they are not about to lose to their former manager who seems to be getting things right at Boro now.

Certainly, it's going to be a tense atmosphere at the weekend but, whilst we wait for that, the Daily Mail has revealed that Leeds are still keen on George Hirst.

Hirst is a good young player but his contract at Sheffield Wednesday is running out and it appears as though he could go at the end of the season.

The Whites might look to strike if he becomes set to leave the club, then, and so we've been thinking about the pros and cons of him arriving...

Pro 1: Top young player

This is the most obvious plus point, Hirst looks set to be a class player.

He's scored goals for fun during his time in the young Owls set-up and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him do that for Leeds.

He's young and talented, and that makes him an attractive acquisition.

Con 1: Still a gamble

Hirst has all the hallmarks of a top player, but many have and then fallen by the wayside.

Can Leeds afford to make another transfer gamble when a fair few look to be backfiring at the moment?

You'd have thought they can, but if Hirst doesn't come off there'll be more criticism aimed at the club.

Pro 2: An extra striking option

Leeds' striking options have been poor this season.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga has not scored as many as we expected, Caleb Ekuban has been injured and Pawel Cibicki has just been completely forgotten.

Bringing a young and hungry Hirst into the side could just get them scoring goals again, then.

Con 2: His aspirations

Leeds is obviously a big club but if they are not in the Premier League Hirst will want to move again soon.

The young player clearly wants first team football already and he'll want to be playing in the top flight before too long as he should be good enough.

Leeds need to try and assure him they can get there but, if they don't, he'll want out again.
