Sunderland are all but down after a miserable season, and at the time of writing this article, a loss at the weekend could well see their fate confirmed.

The Black Cats have never gotten over their relegation from the top flight and poor start under Simon Grayson, and despite Chris Coleman instilling some fight into them, they have simply not been good enough to pick up enough points to avoid the drop.

The summer will be a massive chance for Coleman to clear the decks and look to bring in his own players as he seeks to get the club immediately back to the Championship, and despite the drop into the third tier, Sunderland remain a big draw for some players.

This is why we at FLW think the club can still venture into the Premier League and bring in some players from the top flight to help their cause next term.

Here then, are TWO Premier League players who Sunderland can sign in the summer...

Angel Rangel

In order for Sunderland to get back to winning ways, they are going to need characters, and defenders, and Swansea man Rangel covers both these boxes.

The Spaniard has been a loyal servant to the Swans over the years but has seen his game time cut short over the last few seasons.

A summer move might well be on the cards for the experienced defender, and what better club and manager to make a fresh start under than Chris Coleman and Sunderland.

Jonathan Leko

The young West Brom star has been on the verge of making a big splash for the last few seasons, but remains a player who could do with an extended run in the first team playing regular football.

Leko is an immense talent though, and a move to a club like Sunderland could be the making of him.

Lightning quick, capable of beating his man with ease, and with a keen eye for goal, Leko could be an excellent summer capture for the Black Cats.
