Middlesbrough will be hoping to finish the season with a flourish and secure a playoff place in the Championship as manager Tony Pulis seeks to guide the club back to the Premier League.

The Riverside club have quietly made their way up the table since parting ways with Garry Monk, and Pulis deserves plenty of credit for positioning the club right in the mix for a top six spot.

The club still have plenty of budget in terms of being able to bring in new players in the summer, and Pulis will be looking to add new faces regardless of if the club win promotion or not.

The Premier League has plenty of talent available who are not getting the game time they might necessarily want at their clubs, and this is where we think Boro could swoop in and snap up some players who can do an excellent job for them.

With this in mind, we've taken a look at TWO Premier League players who Middlesbrough could look to sign this summer...

Dominic Solanke

The young England striker has had a strange old first season with Liverpool, being a regular part of squads but not quite stamping any sort of authority on a place in the first eleven.

However, a move to the Championship to a club like Boro would give him the chance to really show himself off. Boro do indeed have the likes of Patrick Bamford and Britt Assombalonga to call on, but Solanke offers something different.

A player with a point to prove, he would no doubt be an excellent addition for the club in the summer.

Angel Gomes

The Manchester United youngster is one of the most highly sought after talents in the Premier League, and the teenager has bags of ability in his locker.

Already included in squads and given the odd appearance by Jose Mourinho, Gomes is expected to become a top player for years to come if he can continue his development.

Quick, able to beat a man, and no doubt wanting to showcase himself, Gomes would be a superb addition for Boro if they could complete a loan move.
