Bristol City played out a stunning 5-5 draw with Hull City this weekend in one of the most bizarre games of football seen in the Championship all season.

The Robins, who have been struggling to maintain any sort of form since Xmas which has put paid to their playoff chances many believe for this campaign, will be looking to the summer once again to add some new faces to a squad which is already brimming with talent.

Manager Lee Johnson has done a commendable job with the Robins and with Wolves out of the way next season, he will be hoping to have another crack at the Championship and guide City to the Premier League for the first time in their history.

We at FLW think that Bristol aren't too far off being a top team in the second tier, but think that a few new faces are needed, and we think they can look into the Premier League for potential new additions.

With that in mind, we've taken a look at TWO Premier League players who Bristol City can look to sign this summer...

Connor Wickham

The big striker has missed nearly the whole campaign for Crystal Palace this term, but is due to return to fitness over the summer and could well be on the lookout for first team football.

The former Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday man is a huge handful for most defences when he is fit and on song, and he'd be the perfect sort of signing for the Robins.

Good in the air, good in front of goal, and still with plenty to prove, Wickham could prove a shrewd capture if Lee Johnson can get the signing over the line.

Matthew James

The Leicester City midfielder could well be on the lookout for a move this summer as he seeks to get back to full fitness and back in the swing of first team football.

Cruel injuries and Leicester signing a wealth of talent have robbed James of the chances he might have been previously afforded, but as he showed in a loan spell with Barnsley, he is a top class player at Championship level.

James might well be open to a move to the Robins, and he would certainly add a touch of class to the middle of the park for Lee Johnson's men.
