Cardiff City have enjoyed an upturn in fortune since experienced manager Neil Warnock took over as manager.

This followed a disastrous start under the guidance of Paul Trollope, with Cardiff firmly mired in a relegation scrap.

And while things have improved on the pitch, Cardiff are still just two points clear of the drop zone.

Warnock has been around the block many times and knows that there is a lot of hard work to put in during a long upcoming season.

He has already implicitly stated his disgust at the team he has inherited by adding four free agent signings within a week of taking the job.

Marouane Chamakh, Junior Hoilett, Sol Bamba and Kieran Richardson all arrived at the Welsh club soon after Warnock.

Warnock has also revealed that he wants to use the January window to have a shake-up in his squad but he acknowledges that he has to sell to buy in order to balance the books.

Here are two that could leave and two that could come in.

OUT - Ben Wilson

Ben Wilson has struggled to make a breakthrough at Cardiff and probably needs to leave for his own sake.

The 24-year-old can't even get in the team when there is a dearth of decent goalkeepers and there are question marks over his attitude after he retorted to AFC Wimbledon fans saying that they still pay his wages despite his bad performances so he's "laughing" while they're "losing out".

I'm not sure this is the type of player Warnock would like at the club so he might get rid to free up some wage space for another goalkeeper.

IN - Wayne Hennessey

Wayne Hennessey

Wayne Hennessey has become second choice at Crystal Palace following the arrival of Steve Mandanda and he might look to leave in January to get regular playing time.

With Danny Ward performing well for Huddersfield too, Hennessey's position as Wales number one is under threat.

A move to Welsh side Cardiff would be ideal for the 29-year-old as he would be getting regular football and he is a top quality goalkeeper.

OUT - Jazz Richards

Jazz Richards' career seems to have stalled at Cardiff and he is now a peripheral player.

The Wales international is yet to play under Neil Warnock, which shows that he does not feature in the veteran manager's plans.

The 25-year-old could be offloaded in January with a number of Championship clubs probably willing to take him on board at a cut-price.

IN - Daryl Horgan

Cardiff could do with a little bit of creativity in their ranks and in-demand winger Daryl Horgan would certainly provide that.

The Republic of Ireland international has been impressive for Dundalk this season during their Europa League campaign and has helped them win the League of Ireland Premier title.

The 24-year-old is wanted by a number of clubs but Cardiff could offer him starts every game and his eye for goal, coupled with his capability of delivering dangerous crosses, makes him the perfect catch for Warnock.
