Sheffield United's excellent first season back in the Championship has somewhat unravelled over the last few weeks, as Chris Wilder's men have essentially chucked away a playoff spot amid a few crucial defeats.

The Blades will be keen to see the season out with a win at Bristol City tomorrow, and then it will be down to business for manager Wilder, who will be keen to add some new additions to the squad which he clearly believes is not far away from being a top Championship side.

United's January business was somewhat underwhelming, and there's a strong sense that the club will look to clear out some members of its squad this term, before looking to add some new players and make improvements.

We at FLW think United could well attract some of the top players from the Championship, and with that in mind, we've looked at TWO players from the Championship who Sheffield United could look to sign this summer...

Martyn Waghorn

United need a proven striker at this level to supplement Leon Clarke and Billy Sharp, and the signing of someone like Waghorn would be a superb piece of business.

The former Leicester man has been in excellent form for a struggling Ipswich side, and he could well be the missing piece for the Blades.

Good in front of goal, plenty of experience, and keen to impress, Waghorn would fit right in with Chris Wilder's charges.

 Ben Osborn

The Nottingham Forest man would be a very useful addition to Chris Wilder's squad, with his versatility one of the big factors which marks him out as an excellent squad man.

Osborn, who has often divided Forest fans with his performances over the last few seasons, may well fancy a new challenge, after being employed as an emergency defender in recent weeks.

A hard worker who seemingly plays like he has a point to prove, the Reds midfielder would be a superb signing for Chris Wilder and his team.
