Derby County will be hoping to seal a playoff place this weekend and win a place back in the Premier League as a result, as manager Gary Rowett seeks to guide the Rams back to the top flight.

Over the last few seasons, Derby have invested heavily in their squad, and they are finally beginning to see some of the fruits of that labour, with the likes of Matej Vydra and Curtis Davies really shining for the Rams this term.

However, the summer is once again approaching and Derby fans will be expecting to see their club go into the market and pick up a few new players, regardless of if the club end up in the top flight or remain down in the Championship.

We at FLW think the Rams are in a position to snap up some of the talent already in the Championship, and there is plenty of it available.

With that in mind, we've taken a look at TWO Championship players Derby should look to snap up this summer...

Liam Lindsay

The Barnsley man appears to have gone from strength to strength this season with his impressive displays catching the eye on a number of occasions.

The Scottish defender, who was only brought to the club last summer by then manager Paul Heckingbottom, has shone for the Reds as they have battled relegation, with the club in a strong position heading into the weekend's fixtures.

Lindsay though will want to broaden and further his career, and a move to Derby would be the ideal sort of move for the 22-year-old, who will be hoping to follow the path of former Barnsley defenders Alfie Mawson and John Stones in terms of reaching the top flight.

John Fleck

The Scottish midfielder has had another stellar campaign for Sheffield United, who themselves have missed out on a playoff spot despite an impressive first season back in the second tier.

Fleck though will have ambitions, and a move to Derby might not seem the most logical if he wants to further his career, however, he could have good reason too.

The Rams will always be spending more than United will at the moment, and a big contract would be on the plate for Fleck. This, added to current off the field problems at Bramall Lane, could well persuade the former Coventry and Rangers man to make a move to the Midlands.
