There has been a mixed reaction in the Leeds United camp following the bemusing appointment of fairly unknown manager Thomas Christiansen, when the news broke out early on Thursday afternoon.

The Whites have been searching for a new man at the helm since Garry Monk's confound resignation at the back end of last season, and it would seem the Yorkshire outfit, who narrowly missed out on the Championship play-offs, have finally got the boss they wanted.

Christiansen needs to crack down to business as soon as possible with players returning to training in a few weeks time and the pre-season schedule will get under way at the beginning of next month.

Although the club have already got their transfer dealings going this summer following the arrival of Hadi Sacko on a permanent basis after having a successful loan spell at Elland Road last term.

So baring that in mind, here are TWO signings new Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen must swiftly add to his squad's ranks.....

Kyle Bartley

Kyle Bartley, 26, has been a long-term target in Leeds United's pursuit to reinforce their defence, having relished a prosperous stint at the club during the 2016/17 campaign on loan from Premier League outfit Swansea City.

The centre-back's future is up in the air after some reports claim Swans boss Paul Clement would like to have him among his players in south Wales, whilst others suggest Bartley could be on the move this summer and Middlesbrough have also joined the chase for his signature.

Formerly of Arsenal, the defender needs to be swooped up by Thomas Christiansen as soon as possible to ensure his transfer business is wrapped up before the season kicks-off, although it's not vitally important as Kyle Bartley already knows his team-mates to some extent.

Alexandru Maxim

Whilst the defence should be paid some attention this summer, it is Thomas Christiansen's responsibility to reinforce the attack at Elland Road to really push for the top-two.

Alexandru Maxim, a creative attacking midfielder, was primarily one of the main reasons why his current employer, VfB Stuttgart, won promotion to the German first division but the Whites could be ready to pounce on his services.

If Christiansen pulls this deal off then it would a magnificent sign of intent by the 44-year-old and preferably sooner rather than later is ideal for the new boss at Leeds United, especially with his superb contacts in the game.

Leeds United fans, what should be Thomas Christiansen's priorities in terms of signings? Are these realistic additions? And do they need to be wrapped up ASAP?
