Two Crewe players are set to return to training this week after time out with injury.
Club captain Matt Tootle had been out with a sore ankle after injuring it during training but is hoping to be back this week.
Crewe boss Steve Davis told the club’s website: “Toots wanted to play at Nantwich but we didn’t want to risk him.
“He will get his game time this week because he will want to play. His fitness is fine. I don’t ever worry about Matt’s fitness levels.”
Vadaine Oliver is also expected to return to training in the hope of featuring in Crewe’s pre-season.
Crewe will play Leek Town on Friday and Chester FC on Saturday, both away from home.
