After a summer of high expectations, Gary Rowett’s Stoke City have made a very disappointing start to life back in the Championship.

The Potters, who were tipped as the bookies’ favourites to lift the Championship title in May before the season had began, have won just one of their opening six league outings, drawing twice and losing three times.

Rowett has assembled a squad, however, capable of much better things, and the former Derby boss will be looking to kick on this weekend against a Sheffield Wednesday side who have won their last three league games.

After a disappointing 2-1 defeat away at West Brom before the international break, there are bound to be changes to Rowett’s starting lineup.
