Rotherham United travel to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town on Wednesday night, with the Millers looking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat to Oxford United at the weekend.

Paul Warne's side had won three games on the bounce in all competitions prior to that defeat, and will be looking to close in on the top six spots once more.

Ipswich however, are unlikely to be an easy task for Rotherham. Paul Lambert's side currently sit top of the third-tier standings and will be looking for a response of their own following their first league defeat of the season at Accrington Stanley on Sunday.

This therefore looks set to be an intriguing encounter between two sides relegated from the Championship last season, and here, we've taken a look at the Rotherham starting XI that Warne could name in order to make sure it is his side that boost their hopes of making a quick return to the second-tier next year with three points on Wednesday.

Having employed a 4-3-3 formation throughout much of the season, we imagine Warne will stick with that system again on Wednesday night.

In goal, it should be on-loan Leicester City stopper Daniel Iversen who continues between the posts, having done so for all but one of the Millers league games this season.

With Rotherham assistant manager Richie Barker revealing Clark Robertson is unlikely to travel due to injury, it could be the same back four that faced Oxford that start at Portman Road, with centre back Michael Ihiekwe recently putting speculation about his future to bed by signing a new deal with the club until the summer of 2022.

There may however, be changes further forward for Rotherham.

Barker also confirmed that attackers Kyle Vassell and Freddie Ladapo - the club's top scorer in all competitions this season - have returned to training, meaning they could be in contention to feature, and provide some extra firepower for the Millers alongside the in-form Michael Smith.

That could see winger Jake Hastie drop back into a slightly deeper role in midfield, where he could link up with Dan Barlaser and Matt Crooks, as Warne looks to find the right balance of defence and attack to overcome the league leaders and put down his side's own statement of intent.
