Leeds United look set to head into the January transfer window with a great chance of winning promotion back to the Premier League.

The side currently sit top of the tree in the lead-up to Christmas, with their 1-0 win against Bolton Wanderers leaving them one point ahead of Norwich City.

A spanner was thrown into their transfer plans last week, however, when Spanish attacking-midfielder Samu Saiz announced that he wanted to leave the club in the window.

An initial loan move has now been agreed, leaving Bielsa short of options in attack, giving him yet another headache for the January window.

The most recent name to be linked with a move to Elland Road as the Spaniard's replacement is West Ham midfielder Marcus Browne, who is currently impressing on loan with Oxford United in League One.

He has so far scored four goals and assisted four more in Karl Robinson's struggling outfit.

But are there better options out there?

Here are TWO options the Whites could look at...

Gooch has been a star of Sunderland's impressive League One resurgence.

The 22-year-old has five goals and eight assists to his name already this season and is really beginning to turn heads.

He may be a product of the Black Cats' academy, but with his contract due to run out in the summer Leeds should test the club's resolve.

A glance across the county could also be wise.

Barnsley attacker Brad Potts, much like Gooch, has burst onto the scene this season in League One with the Tyke scoring five times and assisting two in 17 matches this season.

A player of Potts' quality would be a real statement of intent.
