Sunderland winger Lynden Gooch scored the winner for the Black Cats as they beat MK Dons 1-0 today and many fans of the North East club have been heaping praise on the 24-year-old.

The Black Cats have now won five of their last six games in League One and sit in sixth–just six points away from the automatic promotion places.

They traveled to Stadium MK to take on struggling MK Dons this afternoon but despite creating a number of chances, were unable to break them down for large parts of the game.

In the 79th minute, Gooch provided a moment of magic to secure the three points for Phil Parkinson's side.

The winger cut inside from the right flank, skipped past multiple defenders and then unleashing a curling strike that nestled into the top corner.

Gooch's wondergoal proved decisive for the Black Cats, who have developed into true promotion contenders once again in the last few weeks.

The American has now scored seven goals in 19 league appearances for Sunderland this season, as well as providing an assist.
