Sky Bet Championship club Nottingham Forest have attracted more off-field turmoil after news emerged via The Independent, that the club have not paid players or staff for the month of February.
This is not the first time the club have been in the media for failing to pay their players, and it is thought that the shenanigans are beginning to frustrate and disillusion some of the top performers at the City Ground.
Current Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi currently operates without a chief executive, following the dismissal of Paul Faulkner back in 2014, and since then the club have been hit with a series of payment issues and winding up orders.
A once proud football club, Nottingham Forest fans are not likely to welcome this news and fans have grown increasingly frustrated in recent months with the club’s name being dragged through the mud.
The Reds are currently under a transfer embargo after falling foul of financial fair play and this news is the latest in a long line of comical admin errors from the Forest hierarchy.
Meanwhile, on the pitch, Dougie Freedman’s side currently sit in 15th place in the Sky Bet Championship, having accrued 42 points from 33 league games.
Forest fans… What does the club need to ensure this doesn’t keep happening? Is the chairman solely to blame? Should Fawaz Al Hasawi stay or leave now? Let us know below!
