Birmingham City man Kerim Frei could be set to join Turkish club Istanbul Besaksehir, according to a report by the Birmingham Mail.

The 23-year-old only joined the Blues in January on a permanent deal, but it now appears he could be on his way, with the Turkish club working hard to secure a deal for the winger.

The former Fulham man is well known in Turkey following  successful spell with Besiktas, the club he was at before sealing his transfer to the Blues in January of this year. He has also had spells with Fulham and Cardiff as a youngster, where he was expected to become one of the star men for the Cottagers before moving to Besiktas.

Born in Austria, Frei represented the Switzerland national team as youngster, playing at all levels up to the under-21's. However, he has since switched allegiances, and has full international honours for Turkey now, making five appearances so far.

Birmingham City are hoping to enjoy a far better season this time round than last year, with manager Harry Redknapp looking to build a squad capable of challenging for the top six, rather than battling it out near the bottom like last season.

Blues fans, what do you think? Would you sell Frei? Let us know!
