Plenty of Sheffield United fans have taken to social media to congratulate manager Chris Wilder on winning the LMA Manager of the Year award.

The 51-year-old beat the likes of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to the award, which is named the Sir Alex Ferguson trophy and was also voted as the Championship Manger of the Year.

Wilder was able to guide the Blades to automatic promotion to the Premier League this season after a twelve-year absence, just two years after the team won promotion from League One.

Sheffield United finished second in the Championship table this season, five points behind Norwich City and just missed out on the league title to the Canaries on the final day of the campaign.

Wilder becomes only the fifth manager outside of England’s top flight to win the award, voted for by manager across all four divisions and the first since Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe in 2015.

The news caused a reaction from Sheffield United fans on social media, with many of them congratulating their manager on his award after a brilliant season.
