Queens Park Rangers have parted ways with manager Ian Holloway.

Holloway leaves QPR with immediate effect after guiding the West London outfit to a 16th place finish in the Championship this season.

The former Blackpool and Millwall boss returned for his second managerial stint at QPR in November 2016, winning 26 of his 80 games in charge.

During those 80 games, QPR also lost 40 and drew 14.

After keeping the Hoops up in his first year at the club, he has led them to another mid-table finish this season.

But now Tony Fernandes has wielded the axe on Holloway, opting to bring in a new manager in the hope that he can push QPR up the league table.

There are widespread reports in the media suggesting that Steve McClaren - formerly of Middlesbrough, England, Newcastle United and Derby County - could be the man to replace Holloway at Loftus Road.

Here are how QPR fans reacted to Holloway's departure on social media following the official announcement.
